I am Matthew Turner (carrvo on the internet)

...and I am a human on the Internet.

When I was a child I thought about foundation and infrastructure of what I believed and the things around me. As I grew into an adult I found out this meant philosophy, and more specifically epistemology.

While my central focus lands somewhere between epistemology, psychology, and physics; I consider myself a generalist (similar to "jack-of-all-trades") and will often diverge into software, sociolgy, security, chemistry, economics, linguistics, numerology, statistics, and whatever else I am not aware of.

I do not operate under the premise of pure self-interest. I simply cannot be motivated towards anything that is only used by or only benefits myself. This creates a fundamental need for "sharing" such that I can be motivated by at least one other person's active involvement. This "active involvement" requires at minimum, the willingness for thought experiments (the result of which is something I advocate for quite a bit: understanding without necessarily believing).

I have worked professionally as a Software Developer and a SCADA Analyst.

At the end of 2024 I discovered the IndieWeb. People from the community who helped me reach this point are: Since then, I have the intention to slowly move content from my other profiles to here.
